You know the symptoms – that feeling of worry and tension, the feeling that your body has betrayed you. As danger threatens, the body reacts in certain ways – the fight-or-flight response. Fears and worries do have their place. But at times they get so onerous that it becomes difficult to function. Your anxiety can be managed.
I will teach you ways to manage your anxiety using a variety of methods. A major part of treatment is learning to control your thoughts, especially your over-thinking of situations that contribute to your anxious feelings. We will also work on changing behaviors that add to your focusing on constant worry and self-doubt. I also teach relaxation techniques, including deep breathing and skills for coping with physical symptoms.
